Nutrition or Exercise? Or nothing at all?

I wish I could compartmentalize losing weight & being healthy into one easy-to-follow organized system.  For instance, if the key is eating just 1200 calories a day, I'll try that. However, I know that it's a combo of both & everything in moderation. And of course you can't just be thinking about this stuff. You have to tend your marriage, parent your kids, stay employed, and socialize!  Sometimes I feel like my head might explode trying to keep all of this info intact! If you have a system for managing all of this, please let me know!
